About The Event
Program Overview Narrative:
The announcement of the soon to be launched LEED v4.1 will bring some changes and new credit goals that will be discussed. GBCI launch a new Design Standard for Resilient Design and applicable LEED v4/4.1 pilot credits supporting this new standard. This program will describe the Updates to LEED v4 via 4 addenda that have been issued since the program in March 2017. As the national and international sustainable design movement gathers momentum there are a number of independent entities at the municipal, state and institutional level that have been developing their own standards and criteria and the program will describe some of the criteria they are following or including in the supporting guidelines.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe LEED v4.1 Changes.
- Introduce RELi Resilience Design Standard and LEED Pilot Credit.
- Review LEED v4 Addenda; April 2017, July 2017, October 2017, and January 2018.
- IgCC (International Green Contruction Code) and Municipality/Institutional Sustainable Design Requirements.
Speaker Biography:
Wade is member of a 5 person team of dedicated specifiers supporting 11 SmithGroupJJR Architectural/Engineering offices across the nation, as a Construction Specifications Manager working for the Washington DC office.
As the leader of the SmithGroupJJR Specifications Development of Standards Support Team, Wade is responsible for projects as the staff specifier of record and managing the internal office masters as his primary activities performed for these offices. Wade is also a member of the firm's internal eSPECS for REVIT implementation and training team.
Wade is charged as the firms specifications editor to include Sustainable Design related content in the office generated specification master documents used throughout the network. Wade is charged by the firm with developing enhanced sustainable design language, assisting in the selection of the appropriate materials, and is directly involved with researching the related material and product materials transparency attributes; to then incorporate the selected materials in designated high performance projects and as standards of care within the firm.
Wade is a past president of the Raleigh Durham CSI chapter and Institute Director representing the Southeast Region and is past President for the Southeast Region. Currently Wade is a member of the CSI Certification Committee and Practice Guide Task Team. Outside of CSI Wade is a member of the HPD-C (Helathy Product Decalration - Collaborative) Technical Committee and User Advisory Panel. Wade will be activley involved in the UAP subgroup for Specifications Identifying and recommending specification laguage and placement for materials transparency documentation .
